Our Curate, was appointed to the parish in 2003 when he was ordained into the Auxiliary or Non-Stipendiary Ministry. He works full-time for the Roads Service in Londonderry as a civil engineer, dealing with planning applications in the Development Control section.
He is 60 years old and is happily married to Marlyn. They have three children, Sara, Gareth & Andrew. Adams ‘home church’ is St. Augustine’s in Londonderry, but Killowen Church in Coleraine was his ‘home’ after getting married until his ordination. Now well settled in Castlerock and Articlave, Adam assists the Rector with the church services and is involved with the Fringe youth group and Bible studies.
Since committing his life to Jesus as a student in Birmingham many years ago, Adam has felt God’s presence in his life guiding and directing him, albeit sometimes only recognising God’s direction afterwards! His favourite verse is probably from Jeremiah, chapter 29 verse 11. This is the first verse he committed to memory after his conversion and it continues to provide comfort and a challenge:
“For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
