Meet the Team
Rev’d Andrew Neill, Rector

Although originally from Co. Armagh, I have been living along the North Coast from 2012. I am married to Claire and we have two girls. I have worked with church and para-church agencies for most of my working life. I was children’s and family worker in Glenavy Parish, Connor Diocese, for the better part of a decade before going to work with Scripture Union NI as schools’ worker for the North Coast area. It was during this time that I trained for Ordained Ministry within the Church of Ireland at the Theological Institute in Dublin. I was ordained Deacon in 2022, spending a year in Agherton Parish, Connor Diocese, before being priested and serving my curacy in Drumachose Parish in the Diocese of Derry and Raphoe before being appointed as incumbent of this parish and instituted in January 2026.
My passions in ministry include the creation of true communities of faith, where each member both feels an acute belonging as well as seeing their belonging as a call to serve God in whatever way they believe God is calling that to be. I am also passionate about enabling our children and young people to encounter God in ways that make real meaning in their lives. My book “Exploration and Meaning: Considering Faith Formation in Children Aged Six to Eleven” is an in depth look at this and was published as part of the Braemor Series in 2025.
In my free time I like to play golf, cook, read and go for walks, particularly along our beautiful coastline.
If you would like to know more about me and the Parish, please do get in touch.
McCall Gilfillan, Diocesan Reader
I grew up in Seattle, Washington State in the USA. I did my Bachelors degree in Christian Educational Ministry and Youth Ministry at Seattle Pacific University before meeting my husband and immigrating to N. Ireland in 1998. William is from Limavady and we have made our home in Downhill.
I am a professional artist, potter, and creative facilitator and love exploring the intersection of creativity and Christian spirituality.
I have been involved in children’s ministry for the last 30+ years. I am passionate about the importance of sharing the good news of what God has done for all humanity through Jesus with the next generation and helping them understand themselves to be an integrated part of a worshipping community.
